Step cooking
Prepare the filling
- Cut 250-300 g of onions into small cubes (these are approximately 3 medium onions).

 - Fry it in a pan in a small amount of olive oil until soft.

 - Cut 300-400 g of sweet pepper into medium-sized cubes.

 - Add it to the onion pan, mix.

 - Fry the onion and pepper until soft, but so that the pepper retains its shape. This will take about 7-8 minutes if fry over medium heat, stirring constantly.

 
Collect the pie
- Put one sheet of finished rolled puff pastry on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.

 - On top of the dough, lay out the pepper and onion filling, leaving 1.5-2 cm of the free edge. If necessary, the filling can be slightly salted.

 - Brush the edges of the dough with yolk using a pastry brush.

 - Put 150-200 g of cottage cheese on top of the pepper, placing it in small islands.

 - Cover the pie with a second sheet of dough, pinch the edges. This is convenient to do by pushing them with a fork.

 - Make some cuts on the surface of the pie, you can in the form of rhombs. This will further decorate the dish and prevent the cake from flowing.

 - Lubricate the entire surface with yolk.

 - The edges of the rhombuses can be plucked, turning the cuts into the original pattern.

 - Place the pie in the oven, heated to 210-220 ° C for 15 minutes.

 
Such a cake can be served in a warm or completely cooled form. But cutting it is more convenient while it is hot. This snack can be a great addition to tea or coffee. It can also be cooked and served with chicken broth as a light lunch.
